Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s latest processor, which is expected to launch in mid-2023. This is a powerful chipset, manufactured on TSMC’s N4P process, using 1+5+2 CPU architecture and new-generation ARM Cortex-X4 cores.
According to leaked information on Geekbench, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored very high in performance tests, surpassing the Apple A16 Bionic, the processor considered the “king” of performance of the smartphone world today.
Specifically, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored 1,930 single-core points and 6,236 multi-core points, while the A16 Bionic only reached about 1,800 single-core points and 6,500 multi-core points. This is an impressive result, showing that Qualcomm has significantly improved the performance of the chipset compared to the previous generation.

According to Meeco, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance increases by about 29% for single-core performance and 20% for multi-core performance compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This is explained by Qualcomm’s elimination of a balanced performance core and an additional power-efficient core in the 1+5+2 CPU architecture.
In addition, the use of the latest ARM Cortex-X4 cores also enhances the processing power of the chipset.
However, the leaked scores on Geekbench are only part of the story. We need to wait until Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is officially launched and appears on actual devices to be able to more accurately assess its performance. Qualcomm could also readjust the chip to control temperature and power consumption.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 promises to bring a great experience to smartphone users, with the ability to run heavy applications and games smoothly and save battery. Let’s wait and see what devices Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will appear on and what feats it will do in the future!
